recommendations.
As you grow fresh herbs as house plants or in your garden,
you'll want to harvest the fresh herbs & use them
frequently, so here's a handy list of complementary herbs &
foods...
Herbs
for Beef
There are approximately 16 herbs that go well with beef.
We recommend are basil, bay (or a similar herb
Greek
Myrtle), sage, coriander,
cumin,
dill, marigold, caraway, mint,
savories, tarragon, sweet marjoram,
greek oregano, & thyme
Herbs for Pork
Anise, basil, cumin, dill,
fennel, coriander, lemon balm, mint, sweet marjoram, rosemary, sage, savories,
tarragon & thyme.
Herbs
For Lamb
Mint is used big time for lamb, then there is also basil, bay, caraway,, coriander,
cumin, dill, lemon balm, hyssop, sweet marjoram, rosemary,
sage, savories or thyme.
Herbs for Poultry
For chicken only: basil or bay is always good; also caraway,
coriander, cumin, dill, lemon balm, marigold, sweet marjoram, mint,
rosemary & tarragon; for both sage & savories; for turkey,
thyme.
Herbs For Fish / Shellfish
For fish, Anise, basil, caraway, chives, coriander, dill,
fennel, hyssop, lemon balm (excellent), marigold, sweet marjoram,
mint, parsley, rosemary, sage, savories, tarragon; shellfish & fish, rosemary
& thyme.
Herbs for Liver
coriander, sage or tarragon.
Herbs
For Breads & Cakes:
coriander, cumin, caraway, dill, marigold
& sweet marjoram. Also
Anise, fennel, lovage & rosemary.
Herbs For Goose
Sage.
Herbs For Beans
Winter Savory
Herbs for Duck
Dill is excellent, so is mint. You might try hyssop, rosemary,
sage, savories, tarragon.

Eggs
Scramble them with chives or dill. Or, with any of the
following: Anise, basil, chervil, coriander, cumin, lemon
balm, lovage, sweet marjoram, mint, parsley, rosemary, sage,
savories, tarragon or thyme.

Anise, basil, bergamot, borage, caraway, catmint, chervil,
chickweed, chives, comfrey (do not overdo this one), coriander, cumin, dandelion, dill,
elder, hyssop, lemon balm, marigold, mint, parsley,

& young shoots of
stinging nettle .
Herbs For Soups:
Try Anise, borage, chickweed, caraway, chives, cumin, dill,
fennel, hyssop, lemon balm, lovage, marigold, sweet marjoram, mint,
salad burnet, stinging nettles, savories, tarragon, thyme.
