HAMAMELIS VIRGINIANA. The bark, leaves and twigs of this beautiful garden tree yields the witch hazel of pharmacy use. The extract contains substances which tend to constrict the blood vessels with the effect of preventing bleeding. The leaves turn yellow in fall and yellow flowers are also present.
